Terms and Conditions for the website

1. Acceptance of terms

By visiting or using ScrollBoy at www.scrollboy.com, or by creating an account there, you confirm that you have read these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy, and that you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site and do not create an account. These terms are an agreement between you and ScriptWeavers, the business that runs ScrollBoy. Using the site after a change to these terms means you accept the change.

2. The service

ScrollBoy shows pictures and videos that have been posted to Reddit, laid out as galleries by subreddit, by poster and by feed. The posts come from public archives of Reddit and from Reddit itself, not from any content ScrollBoy makes or stores on its own. The pictures and videos are loaded by your browser from Reddit's own picture hosts and from the archives; ScrollBoy keeps small copies for its thumbnails and nothing more.

ScrollBoy is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Reddit, Inc. Reddit and the subreddit names are trademarks of their owners. Because the posts come from archives, a gallery may show posts that were later deleted or removed on Reddit, and a subreddit that has since been closed. ScrollBoy does not decide what was posted and does not vouch for any of it.

ScrollBoy is free to use. Nothing on it is sold, and there is no paid membership. The service is provided as it is, and features may be added, changed or removed at any time.

3. Accounts

An account is free. It is needed only for the features that keep something for you, such as saving subreddits, posts and users, and arranging them into categories. To create one you give a valid email address that you control and choose a password. The address is confirmed by a link sent to it; an unconfirmed sign-up is deleted after 24 hours.

An account is personal. Keep your password to yourself, do not let others use your account, and tell us through the contact form if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Do not create several accounts to get around a limit, and do not create accounts with addresses that are not yours. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, that is used for abuse, or that has been left unconfirmed.

You can delete your account yourself from the account page at any time. Everything kept on it, your saved lists, your settings and your sessions, is deleted with it.

4. Adult content and age

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to use ScrollBoy and to create an account. Some of what is posted on Reddit is marked by Reddit as adult content (NSFW), and ScrollBoy can show it; by switching it on or opening it you confirm that you are of age. Where such content is unlawful for you to view where you are, you must not view it.

5. Acceptable use

You may use ScrollBoy to browse and to keep your own lists. You agree not to:

• Use the site for anything unlawful, or to find, collect or spread content that is unlawful where you are or where it is hosted.
• Read the site with scripts, bots or crawlers at a rate that burdens it, copy its archive or its lists wholesale, or republish what you got through it as a feed or a service of your own.
• Get around limits, rate limits, the sign-in or any other control the site has, or probe the site or its helpers for weaknesses.
• Use the site to harass, stalk or expose anyone, or to gather personal information about people who posted on Reddit.
• Send anything through the contact form that is not a message to us.

Your use of content from Reddit is also subject to Reddit's own rules and to the rights of the people who posted it.

6. Content and takedowns

Everything shown in the galleries was posted on Reddit by its posters and belongs to them or to whoever holds the rights to it. ScrollBoy claims no rights over it and only shows what public archives hold. If you hold the rights to something shown on ScrollBoy and want it gone, or if a post shows you and you want it taken down, send the post's address through the contact form at www.scrollboy.com/contact/ and say who you are. Posts reported to us are kept off the site, whatever the archives still hold. ScrollBoy cannot remove anything from Reddit or from the archives themselves; for that you contact them.

7. Intellectual property

The ScrollBoy site, its design, graphics, logo, name and texts belong to ScriptWeavers and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may use the site as it is offered; you may not copy, modify or redistribute the site or its code, or use the ScrollBoy name or logo in a way that suggests a connection or an endorsement. You may name ScrollBoy in reviews and discussions, honestly.

8. Email

We send email to the address on your account for the account itself: to confirm the address, to reset a password, and about changes to the service or to these terms. We also use the address to send you news about ScrollBoy, such as new features, and now and then a word from a sponsor of the site. Every such mail carries an unsubscribe link, and one click on it stops the news. Mails about the account itself cannot be turned off while you have the account. Your address is never handed to a sponsor or to anyone else; the mails are sent by us.

9. Availability and changes

We try to keep ScrollBoy up, but we do not promise that it is always available or free of faults. The site depends on Reddit, on its picture hosts and on public archives run by others, and any of those may change, slow down, limit access or close at any time, which can affect what ScrollBoy can show. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service at any time, including where a change in the law makes it necessary.

10. Liability

ScrollBoy is free and is offered as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, ScriptWeavers and the people behind ScrollBoy are not liable for any loss or damage from your use of the site, or from your inability to use it, including loss of data and harm from content shown on the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud, or your rights as a consumer that cannot be waived.

You agree to hold ScriptWeavers harmless from claims by others that arise from your breaking these terms or the law while using ScrollBoy.

11. Termination

You may stop using ScrollBoy at any time and delete your account from the account page. We may suspend or end your account, with or without notice, if you break these terms, if your account is used for abuse, or if we stop the service. Sections 6, 7, 10 and 12 keep applying after an account ends.

12. Governing law, changes and the whole agreement

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, where ScriptWeavers is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live. A dispute is first taken up with us through the contact form; failing that, it belongs to the courts of Norway, unless the law where you live gives you the right to a court there. If a part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stands.

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and ScriptWeavers about ScrollBoy. We may change them; a change is posted on this page with its date, and for a change that matters to you we try to say so on the site or by email. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
